'Building the Toolbox' is a lifelong process, it starts early!
Do you remember you're first real job?
Little did I realize I was ' Filling the Toolbox '.

"A Toolbox is an imaginary place where you store lessons and knowledge; then as you grow, each minute, each hour, or day, that tool is no longer a lesson or a dream, it is life! "
Yes, I was creating the tools, and slowly filling that box! Want to become an entrepreneur get a job as a kid. Imagine selling newspaper subscriptions, just the sales experience alone is amazing. Selling newspapers in bars ( great tips ), honing sales skills, building communication skills, developing good work ethics.
Always remember what Ben Franklin said "Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise".
He had to work in his father’s business, but in his spare time, he read everything he could, about every subject under the sun.
When he was twelve, Benjamin began working as an apprentice in a printing shop owned by one of his elder brothers, James. When his brother started printing a newspaper, Benjamin wrote to it in the name of “Mrs. Dogood” in defense of freedom of speech.

Yes, we need basic elementary education; but what if your family like Ben Franklins cannot afford higher education? Today in America you may leave college with huge debts, that can hinder you for years.
Let's lead the children to the library or Kindle, Youtube can guide you and teach most anything, and will probably become the world's teacher, along with all the online studies now available.
Let's lead our future leaders to learn everything about computers, let them work at very young ages, involve them in public speaking programs. Just think some of the greatest minds of our time did not go too or left college early! Albert Einstein, Physicist, Abraham Lincoln
US President, Winston Churchill, Statesman and War Leader, William Shakespeare
Poet and Playwright, Henry Ford Industrialist and Entrepreneur, Mark Twain Author and Wit, Steve Jobs, Apple Co-Founder, John Glenn, Astronaut, Horace Greeley, Journalist and Congressman, John D. Rockefeller, Billionaire, Ben Franklin, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Harry Truman, US President.
Today, I teach English, spelling, sentence structure and public speaking to children in Naga City, the Philippines.
Let me say today that work experience saved me because I was a poor student; yes thrown out of the 4th grade twice, and then the 9th grade at 16 years old. From there I was headed on a vacation for two years at 18.
Well, when confined to a cell many hours a day I discovered books: Mark Twain, Jules Verne, some were around 150 books; this was truly the start of my education. Also, I achieved my High School Equivalency Diploma. Honesty, I never remember reading a book before then!
Yes, a little cell time ( not cell phone ) may hone your brain if you are lucky.
Maybe I have peeked your interest, see my story: http://weebeworld.zohosites.com/my-story.html , how and why do I teach children, because it matters, I was one of those kids, and books and mentors changed my life.
What about you?
York,
"building the world one child at a time"
