Greetings!

I don't typically write these kinds of emails, but in this case, I can honestly say, it is a matter of life & death! Since my diagnosis of early stage onset ALS, I have more or less been on my own for researching any potentially effective treatments. I actually prefer naturopathic substances that have been shown to be effective as a treatment for any disease, especially one I have.

In this case that naturopathic substance is known as CBD oil or cannabidiol (aka Medical marijuana.) It is an extract from the cannabis or hemp plant and in the past few years has proven to be an effective treatment for many neurological diseases, like epilepsy, alzheimers and ALS. Legislation is slowly beginning to recognize the value of the research and application of this valuable hemp extract in treatment of motor neuron diseases. Unfortunately, clinical trials are stymied by the categorization of marijuana or hemp as a Schedule 1 illegal drug, like heroin.

This forwarded email from a company that I purchase the extract from has sent out an alert that Senator Grassley of the Agricultural Committee is submitting an amendment to the Hemp farming Act that would exclude cannabinoids/extracts/derivatives from the definition of hemp. That would mean products like CBD oil would be categorized as Schedule 1 Controlled Substance like heroin! Patients like me must go through significant hoops to apply, get and use a medical marijuana card just to buy a very expensive non-health care covered treatment to get some  relief and hope for improvements. After a few months of use, I have seen significant improvements in my energy levels, appetite, tremors reduction and more!

If you have a minute to click on any of the links provided by the original email's sender to make your voice & vote heard to stop this devastating amendment, I would be very grateful. I understand the history of this plant and how our society has only focused on the THC part of it, but that is NOT the whole story!

Thank you for your consideration and of course, if you know of any other people who might be receptive to casting their "vote" for naturally effective treatment, I would ask you to pass the original email along.
