I answer a question on Quora

A criticism and A answer,
Toastmasters, in my opinion, has never had a vision for the future as far as kids go? That is under 18 years of age. You must be eighteen to join Toastmasters.

In 2007 I created Youth Speaking to America ( YSTA ) in Florida. Other than a club donating Youth Leadership manuals, there was zero support from the organization. I was treated as an outsider because of YSTA, of course, dissenters never read the comments by the kids on my website, or ever attended one of our contest/graduations.

Interestingly this outsider only uses Toastmaster manuals and training.
Sathyamurthy Ramanujam, here mentioned Gavel Clubs, they are not for kids.
One thing I do know the hundreds of kids that participated in my 18 YLPs know exactly what Toastmasters is. So when they grow older and this public speaking thing enters the room again; where will they go, Toastmasters.

An answer:
Toastmasters could double its membership by creating a YLP with different school systems around the world. Example, Toastmasters may do YLP as a goal at the Silver Level, towards becoming a DTM ( Distinguished Toastmaster ).
With Toastmasters providing the teachers, they together with the school system could require a student to participate one time from 5th to 12th grade, at that school.

Are there Toastmasters for kids where you live, I doubt it.

With technology like Artificial Intelligence, and machine learning changing our lives, who will be in charge ( our kids ).

So how important are public speaking skills I ask you?

If there is a Toastmaster YLP near you, please send me the infomation.
