Why not promote a TEDx event? I read Marks answer he is a pro, and I agree with everything he said. 'See Mark Lovett's answer below'
My experience was promoting mountain-bike and triathlon and off-road Duathlons.
To me, the key to creating any business is to work, or play at it gaining the inside know-how of the nuts and bolts!
Promoting any significant event is a serious undertaking, and could take a year or more to put together.
I would get involved in some TEDx events before making the big step. Lot's of luck.

If you’re interested in organizing your own TEDx event I would recommend you begin by reading the TEDx Organizer Guide. This will take a number of hours to accomplish, but only then will you begin to understand what’s involved.

As you can see, there are a lot of rules associated with organizing a TEDx event, but if you have the time and energy, and can assembly a team of volunteers who will help you, it’s quite possible.I’ve organized 18 events over the past 6 years in San Diego, and the key to success is the team behind the organizer.
Attend other TEDx events in your area - TEDx | Event Listing | TED - to see how others do it. Talk to the volunteers, and if you can, the actual organizer. They’ll tell you how much work it is, and how rewarding it can be to produce a TEDx.

David against Goliath!

History always tells a story; this story not unlike the tale of David and Goliath is the story of how Goliath has control! PLDT/Smart in the Naga City area of the Philippines as well in simple terms is the saddest excuse for an internet company.
