Question on Quora? How does reading affect social skills?







 At eighteen, I was on a temporary vacation at a reformatory in upstate N.Y. for stealing cars.
With lots of cell time, I found the library and books. Honestly, I was thrown out of the 9th grade at 16, and the fourth grade twice, and maybe never had read a book?

My first book, The Mysterious Island ( author Jules Verne ), and wow a whole new world has opened! I needed a dictionary to

understand the words.

Ok, in my 2-year vacation I read 150 books, and now writing here.
Fast forward to the early eighties, I was introduced to talk radio, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, and they always talked about great books.

Then in 2003, I was introduced to Toastmasters and public speaking.
Now my reading was 1000% better, and the kid with no education was going to start teaching public speaking to children.
So now the 9th-grade dropout was going to take his message to the youth of America ( www.youthspeakingtoamerica.zohosites.com) stay in school and read, it will change your life!

Why did Malala give her speech?

Question on Quora Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani student who was shot in the head by the Taliban after speaking out for education rights for girls, spoke to the U.N. Youth Assembly on her 16th birthday. Wow, 16 years old, Malala, brings to the world at the UN such power, such presence, I would have thought she had been a public speaker for years? She exhibits a skill hard to learn ( reading and talking to the audience with excellent eye contact. If you watch truly good speakers, MLK, JFK, Winston Churchill, Hilter, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagon, Donald Trump, and Toastmaster World Champions, and of course most politicians they all capture the audience! David and Goliath, still SAD

David and Goliath   6/7/18 Now 1. 5 years and still SAD History always tells a story; this story not unlike the tale of David and Goliath is the story of how Goliath has control! PLDT/Smart in the Naga City area of the Philippines as well in simple terms  is  the saddest excuse for an internet company.
